“From the very first contact with the team at Voss og Fjordane, it was clear that their commitment was not only professional but also genuine. From the outset, they understood my needs as a new tour guide, my passion for sharing the beauty of Norway, and my desire to offer unique experiences. Every word, every action, demonstrated a sincere dedication that is unforgettable, creating a relationship of trust that went far beyond a simple collaboration. The training they provided was completely tailored, designed to ensure that every itinerary and every detail of my tours aligned perfectly with what my travelers were looking for. Every step they took, every recommendation they made, reflected not only their vast experience in the tourism sector but also their love for the region. The quality of their training was exceptional; not only did they offer impeccable logistical support, but they also provided a personalized approach that made me feel supported and valued at all times. What truly made this collaboration special was the incredible beauty of the Vestland region. With its vibrant and untamed nature, it became the perfect backdrop for the routes I guide. The towering mountains, peaceful fjords, and landscapes that seem straight out of a dream not only accompanied but enriched the experience I offer my tourists. Every corner of the region inspires, invites reflection, and fosters a deep connection with nature—something I strive to convey to those who join me. I wholeheartedly recommend Voss og Fjordane to any new or senior tour guide looking for not only excellent training but also a unique experience in an incomparable natural setting. Their professionalism, evident in every gesture and decision, and their tireless dedication, make working with them not just an opportunity, but a guarantee of quality in every tour. Because with Voss og Fjordane, every year I return to this beautiful region feels like coming home—a place where quality, beauty, and dedication are found in every corner, offering my travelers an unforgettable experience”

“During my whole life I’ve been living, studying and working in Switzerland, my home country. But I always felt the need of experiencing working abroad. Finally in 2018 I took the decision and started guiding for Voss og Fjordane Guideservice as a guide. It has been very active, social and fun. I learned how to carpe diem and live more spontaneously, but also how to be organized and prepared, skills that I will bring with me the rest of my life. My situation now has changed, since I wanted to take a different path and teach in schools. But it is only thanks to Voss og Fjordane Guideservice if I can do it in Norway. I owe the guiding

company most of my knowledge about history, art, culture and much more of this amazing country. Thank you for welcoming me and giving me a professional and warm working environment!”
“The best part about working as a guide is the response from the cruise guests that are grateful for fun and educational tours. Our many different tours give ample possibilities to talk about everything from the modern Norway, history, nature and fauna, the sights, and not to forget the local curiosities.

I am looking forward to next summer that will bring new opportunities to share my enthusiasm for this spectacular and interesting region I live in. It’s also going to be fun to again work with previous and new guides from all of Europe.”
“How would I describe my experience in Voss og fjordane guideservice?
Chiara di Vizio, tour guide since 2024
Absolutely amazing!
The season 2024 has been a great chance to learn much about the job of the tour guide, to meet new people and to learn how to work well in a team. It was very rewarding to see the guests happy after a tour, knowing that they will always cherish a good memory of their journey to Norway. The best things I’ll carry with me from this season are for sure the passion for this beautiful job, the memories of Norway’s breathtaking landscapes and the wonderful friends I have found
“Being a tour guide in the Norwegian fjords was an amazing experience – most of the time, it didn’t even feel like work! Exploring such stunning places every day was incredible, but what made it even better was getting to know my colleagues and sharing all the little adventures with them. It wasn’t just a job; it was a life experience that I’ll always cherish.”
Elisa Maiese, tour guide since 2024
“When I first applied to work as a tour guide for Voss og fjordane Guideservice I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect in terms of the job itself. The idea to spend a whole summer on the fjords was reason enough to give it a try. Worst case scenario: it’s going to be a one-time thing – that’s what I thought back then. Six months and several tours after, I can honestly say it was worth it, and not only for the stunning “office”. As for what to expect, well, anything! While you do tend to work on a given number of itineraries, every tour is different and it’s up to you to deal with guests, other parties and the unexpected in general. However, you’re never really on your own: the other guides, the drivers and the dispatchers are all part of the same team. Like in every other job, I had my share of rainy days (if you’re considering to give it a try, make sure to pack waterproof clothes) as well as some bumps along the road – both terrible puns intended. Sometimes you get really early starts, sometimes traffic refuses to play along with your schedule and sometimes the weather can be a little too keen in reminding you that it’s not the Canary Islands. But when you leave your guests happy back at the pier, or enjoy a coffee break overlooking a waterfall, everything comes together and if you don’t mind an adventure it doesn’t even feel like working at all.”
